45 Cam Needle Bearing Conversion Kit

The ICE 45 Cam Needle Bearing Kit includes: seven Needle Bearings required spacers and instructions and fits (All models with brass cam bushings including: UL, ULH, 45's, Sportsters and early K models)

The stock engines utilize eight brass bushings to support the four camshafts between the right case and the side cover. The brass bushings are expensive, and require reaming reaming to properly size and align them once installed. Seven of the eight bushings can be replaced by low cost easy to install needle bearings that reduce friction. (The rear cylinder (#2) exhaust cam cover bushing can not be replaced by an interchangeable needle bearing.)

Alternative methods of bushing removal from cases and bearing installation are provided in the instructions provided with each kit.

The needle bearing kit is easily installed however, the installer should have good mechanical skills and use "good shop practices" to successfully complete this mod. Minor modification of the Cover is required.

The needle bearing kit is comparably priced with respect to stock brass bushing replacements. The ICE cam needle bearing kit includes al required hardware. Completion of the mod requires some machining of the case to provide adequate oiling to the outer cam bearings. For more information call or write requesting a product description sheet.
