45 Clutch Hub Roller Bearing Conversion Kit
Replace your stock Clutch Hub ball bearing assembly with a set of roller bearings. This kit contains 57 Full Length Rollers to allow the installation of a "full complimentary set" of rollers about the clutch hub assembly. The assembly requires 56 rollers to be installed replacing the OEM retainer and the 60 stock ball bearings. (One spare roller is included in each kit.) This mod kit is designed to be installed as a simple "remove and replace" type process. Installation of the mod kit does not require any machining of serviceable Clutch Hub or Shell components. The roller bearing mod kit is intended to extend the serviceable life of scoured or grooved clutch hub or clutch shells. These rollers are ground from SAE 52100 alloy with a hardness of R/C 60-64. All kit hardware is American made.

This kit contains 54 full length rollers to allow the installation of a "Full complimentary set" of rollers about the clutch hub assembly. The rollers can be installed in place of the retainer and the stock "segmented rollers" or in place of worn or damaged full length rollers previously installed. These rollers are ground from SAE 52100 alloy and have a hardness of R/C60-64. We offer you the choice of rollers only or kits with two options for thrust plates. The polymer thrust plate provides an outer surface and prevents roller contact with the friction disc.

The ICE 45 Cam Needle Bearing Kit includes: seven Needle Bearings required spacers and instructions and fits (All models with brass cam bushings including: UL, ULH, 45's, Sportsters and early K models)
The stock engines utilize eight brass bushings to support the four camshafts between the right case and the side cover. The brass bushings are expensive, and require reaming reaming to properly size and align them once installed. Seven of the eight bushings can be replaced by low cost easy to install needle bearings that reduce friction. (The rear cylinder (#2) exhaust cam cover bushing can not be replaced by an interchangeable needle bearing.)
Alternative methods of bushing removal from cases and bearing installation are provided in the instructions provided with each kit.
The needle bearing kit is easily installed however, the installer should have good mechanical skills and use "good shop practices" to successfully complete this mod. Minor modification of the Cover is required.
The needle bearing kit is comparably priced with respect to stock brass bushing replacements. The ICE cam needle bearing kit includes al required hardware. Completion of the mod requires some machining of the case to provide adequate oiling to the outer cam bearings. For more information call or write requesting a product description sheet.
