 The Original

45 Clutch Hub Roller Bearing

Replace the stock Clutch Hub Ball Bearing assembly with a set of roller bearings.  The kit contains 57 full length rollers (1 spare) to convert the original caged ball bearing assembly to a fully complimented roller Clutch Hub bearing.   The conversion requires installation of 56 rollers to replace the 60 stock balls.  The mod kit is designed as a simple "remove and replace" type process.  Most installations will not require any modification to the existing Clutch Hub or Clutch Shell.  The Roller Bearing Conversion is intended to extend the life of the typically grooved Clutch Hub & Shell.  The rollers are made from ground SAE 52100 alloy and have a hardness of R/C 60-64.  Once installed excessive play will be eliminated from the Clutch Hub assembly reducing clutch noise.  The original 45 Clutch Hub Bearing kit was designed in 1988 and first marketed in 1990.  All hardware is American made.

 45 Cam Bearing

Conversion Kit

The 45 Cam Bearing Kit includes:7 needle bearings, required spacers and instructions and the mod is applicable to UL, ULH, 45's early Sporsters and K models.  Early engine cases used brass bushings to support the cams between the engine case and side cover.  The brass bushings are expensive, require reaming to fit the cams.  Seven of the eight stock bushings can be replaced with low cost easy to install needle bearings that reduce friction.   The bushing located in the side cover at the #2 exhaust cam can not be replaced with an interchangeable needle bearing.  The new needle bearings are easily installed however the installer should have good mechanical skills and use good shop practices to successfully complete this mod.  Some minor modifications to the side cover are required to provide adequate oiling to the cover bearings.  For more information call or contact us requesting a product information sheet.
